A kitty filled weekend...

Saturday we had our weekly adoption fair, and there were...

15 kittens!!!!!

Holy crapola. They were all so adorable! 3 of them got adopted, and then one of our adult cats got adopted, too.

Sunday we had the grand opening of our new shelter for the feral cats. Here is a newspaper article about it. The comments are... interesting. I never realized what a controversial thing this is.

As everyone stood around listening to speeches and thank you's before the ribbon cutting ceremony, I felt very proud to be a part of this organization. It's really come a long way, and I've only been involved for a few months. After the ribbon was cut, the woman who is responsible for most of the funding of this presented our President with another check for $12,000.00, which will help us to buy medical supplies. I'll admit, it made me well up a bit.

The shelter is beautiful, and it will be very interesting and exciting to see it working the way it should.

Anyway, just had to brag a little! Hope you all had a great weekend!

Good for you, I love cute little kittens but we will never have a cat because sushi is allergic. We couldn't even have an outdoor cat because cakes would bring her inside, guarantee it.

My step-daughter, Dr. Amber, has had her picture in the paper several times for the work she does with spaying and neutering and working with ferral cats. Keep up the good work and we will, too.

I've got three strays haunting my back yard, shall I send them along?

Sounds like an excellent undertaking you're involved in.
